Bookmobiles Are Enchanting

Embrace the magic that books hold inside; intriguing illustrations that take you to far away lands, where you get to become a great explorer and find yourself immersed in an enchanting world. When I saw first hand the disparities that some families face in getting children’s books for their homes, I knew a call to action was needed to help raise awareness and energize the movement to enhance access to these vital resources. If transportation and finances are a barrier to accessing children’s books it seems like the natural solution is to bring the books to the families. The goal is to build children’s personal libraries, so instead of checking a book out and having to return it at a later date, the child will keep their chosen book forever.

Following in the footsteps of my Grandmother, I am extremely passionate about the power of literature to enhance a child’s success. My Grandmother helped establish the Essex County public library and connected communities with access to books. I believe the passion for service runs in my blood and is a great way to stay connected to the community in which I love.

Have you ever wanted to get lost in the Jurassic period where you’re immersed in a land of dinosaurs, or surrounded by majestic underwater creatures, or explore caves deep in the mountains that take you to the middle of the Earth? Books offer such enrichment opportunities as these, and my belief is that every child should have these critical learning resources that stir the imagination and captivate curious minds.
