National Literacy Month

National Literacy Month is a celebration of reading and writing in America that takes place in September. It highlights the importance and benefits of literacy for children’s development, social and emotional health, and success in school and life. It also recognizes the diversity of languages and cultures in the world. During this month, people are encouraged to visit their local libraries and sign up for library cards. The Enchanting Bookmobile is also celebrating International Literacy Day on September 8th and National Read a Book Day on September 6th. Join us in celebration by reading your favorite book, helping a child read this month and renewing your commitment to your local libraries that aim to serve!
